3 reasons to go on Rock Climbing for kids with us:
- Learn to cooperate and build trust and confidence through a fun family activity
- Spend quality time with your children in a natural alpine environment
- Gain new knowledge, skills and rock climbing experiences
What to expect?
We will meet at our headquarters or your accommodation in Bled, from where we will take a short drive to the natural climbing area in Bohinjska Bela. Here, the youngsters will also get all the rock climbing gear, such as suitable rock climbing shoes, a rock climbing harness and a helmet.
The guide will first demonstrate to the parents the technique of belaying with a rope so that children can climb with the help of their parents and therefore spend some quality time together. Alternatively, the instructor can belay with a rope by himself.
The guide will also teach youngsters how to climb safely. Before starting the activity, the guide will explain in detail how to correctly use the equipment and which climbing techniques to practise on a wall that is fully equipped with safety snap hooks.
Rock climbing for kids also includes training on how to recognize the natural features of the wall and how to use cracks, shelves, and natural grips. In doing so, the youngsters also learn how to descend and climb down the wall safely.
Experienced guides and safety measures
Rock climbing for kids in Bohinjska Bela is supervised by qualified instructors with years of experience to help youngsters develop climbing skills and, if necessary, help them to overcome their fear of heights.
Guides are also there to provide maximum safety measures, even though kids are climbing with their parents. Parents do not need to climb, but with a guide, they can protect the children on the wall with a belay and a rope. Outdoor rock climbing for kids is an unforgettable experience for parents and children, with the instructor constantly nearby to ensure safety and guidance.
Various easy difficulty levels
Rock climbing for kids takes place on a natural wall, that is adjusted for beginners and children. The guide adapts the difficulty level based on past experiences and children’s knowledge of climbing. In doing so, youngsters can climb and try their skills on various routes in the wall, which are rated from 3 to 5 on the French scale.
Thus, they can also progress from one difficulty level to another. The whole rock climbing for kids route on the wall is adapted for children, since the shelves are slightly larger so that the child can step on them, and the wall is not totally vertical so that the child does not hang in the air.
