Why is the Zipline Bovec so special?
Zipline Bovec adventure is an ideal opportunity for everyone who would like to experience the adrenaline descents, surrounded by the beautiful alpine nature. Bovec zip line is one of the biggest zip line parks in Central Europe and by far the biggest in Slovenia.
Ziplining over Soča Valley, between two mountains reaching over 2000 meters high, Mt. Kanin and Mt. Rombon, will fill you with adrenaline and an initial sense of fear, which you will surely overcome when flying above the breathtaking nature of the alpine valley with amazing panoramic views of the Julian Alps.
Imagine that you are standing on a small aerial platform 1300 meters high above the ground. In the next moment, your feet leave the ground and you are 200 meters up in the air, dropping steel wire and at one point reaching velocities up to 60 km/h. Zipline Soča offers drops on five different steel wires with a total length of 3 kilometers, where each cable is 550-700 meters long.
What to expect from Zipline Bovec?
Our meeting point is in the center of the alpine town of Bovec. We kindly ask you to arrive half an hour before the scheduled departure. You will get all the necessary equipment at the meeting point, including a safety harness, helmet, and gloves. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and footwear, such as hiking boots or sneakers. Appropriate footwear will make the whole experience more pleasant and safe.
Then we will take a ride with a 4×4 off-road vehicle from the town to the starting point for the Bovec zipline tour in Soča Valley. Driving there take about 30 minutes, where we will drive along a macadam road.
From the point where we parked the jeep, we will start a hike towards the first zipline Bovec point with the platform. An easily accessible hiking trail takes about 10 minutes.
Zipline Bovec adventure
When you reach the aerial platform, which is the platform you start and end your zips on, the guide will teach you all the rules you need to follow, explain the basics, and hook you up on the steel wire using a harness and making sure you are safe and ready to fly. The guide will also demonstrate the pulley system used to control yourself and your stopping ability while descending.
Then, in tandem or alone, you will drop 5 different steel wires and fly about 200 meters above the ground. After a single drop of 550 to 700 meters long cable, you will again feel the ground under your feet on the next platform, high above the valley.
The Zipline Bovec, Soča tour offers a fivefold repetition of adrenaline drops, where you will move from one point to another. At each descent, you will reach different velocities. The zipline Bovec adventure ends about 300 meters lower, somewhat above Kanin’s gondola lift B station.
Zipline Bovec adventure – for families and adrenaline enthusiasts
According to the difficulty scale from one to six, the zipline Soča tour is between one and two, which means that it falls at an easy difficulty level. Thus, this outdoor activity is suitable for families with children, couples, groups, and adrenaline enthusiasts.
Gravity has a lot to do with the speed while descending, which is why we have weight minimums and maximums. These allow us to make sure you will not go too fast but also to give you enough momentum to keep moving. That is why children who have 30 kilograms or less are going in tandem with their parents. There is also an upper weight limit for the safety measures, which is 125 kilograms.
You don’t need previous experience for this tour, as the guide will always take care of your safety and comfort. Your guide will also show you exactly how to zip so that you will be completely in control. We take safety seriously and use only top-of-line equipment such as pulleys, carabiners, harnesses, and hand brakes.
