What to expect of rock climbing 3 routes tour?

You can expect a lot of adrenaline since you will try climbing 3 different routes on the 25m high rock. These routes are suitable for everyone because you can choose different difficulty levels (from 3 to 7a). Besides that, you will also be able to experience the “cliffhanger effect”. All the equipment needed (the shoes, the harness, the helmet) will be provided by our office and the price of the renting is already included in the price of the activity.

Starting an active day in the natural climbing area

With your guide, you will go on a 10-minute drive from Bled to Bohinjska Bela and park in the centre of the village. Then you will go on a short hike towards the Iglica natural climbing area. Here, the guide will prepare the safety equipment and fasten ropes in the routes. You will put on a harness and helmet. The guide will do a safety check to make sure everything is correctly set. You can choose a preferred climbing direction with a particular difficulty level, from 3a for beginners to 8c for experienced climbers. It depends on your experience and skills.  On a rock climbing 3 routes tour you will climb and abseil three times from the ground to the top of the 30 meters high protected wall. If you will find that you can manage more than 3 routes, we can extend the activity and you can climb 6 routes or more.

Fearless climbing on a dry rock wall

The guide will rope you up and protect you from the ground while you will climb on an equipped rock wall. The guide will teach you a safeguarding technique so that you can also protect climbers in your group. You will also learn basic techniques to climb in the lead, rappel on a rope, rope manoeuvres and how to tie a knot at the top of the wall. When climbing and searching for proper cracks and shelves, you will be able to observe the impressive 25-meter-high Iglica Waterfall, which flows into a small artificial lake.

When can you join the rock climbing 3 routes adventure?

You can join us in the morning at 8:00 every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. The best time for climbing in Iglica natural climbing area is between early May and late October. The activity is available all year round, except when there is snow or bad weather.

In bad weather conditions, we will adjust the hour for the tour or reschedule it for another day when the weather will clear. We don’t expect crowds at the climbing area, as there are many natural rock walls near Lake Bohinj. The Iglica climbing area is suitable for all beginners as well as skilled climbers, as you will be able to climb routes of different difficulty levels. If you are a beginner, you will learn new climbing and safeguarding techniques.

Climbing equipment for rent

If you are an experienced climber and would like to explore natural climbing areas on your own, you can rent all the gear you need for safe climbing in our office. You can rent individual equipment such as a carabiner, belay Gri Gri, quickdraw, harness, climbing rope, helmet and shoes in your size. You can also rent a top-notch set that includes all the gear mentioned above. In our Bled office, you can rent a rock climbing guidebook in different languages. In the guidebook, you will find detailed descriptions of more than 90 protected rock climbing routes in Slovenia.

For more information, you can check our blog on the 7 most basic pieces of gear you need for rock climbing.
