What does Triglav National Park canyoning look like?
Location of TNP Canyoning
This canyon is located in Triglav National Park, 1h20min away from Lake Bled. Our first parking spot is at the top of Predel Bridge, right before you cross the border of Italy. From the parking spot close to Mangartski slap (waterfall), we have 25 minutes to get to the Predilnica stream, where we have the starting point of our Triglav National Park canyoning.
Driving part…
Your journey will begin at Lake Bled, from where you will drive towards Mangartsko Sedlo, a scenic route that will take approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. As you will cross into Italy, it is important to bring your ID cards or passports with you.
Due to our unique departure location, two cars always go in that direction simultaneously.
Wearing wetsuits…
Your canyoning kit will be ready at the first parking spot. Meanwhile, one guide will park lower at the exit and return to your starting point. Then you will have to walk to the beginning of the canyon for around 25 minutes.
Safety first!
The canyon guide will give you a quick safety briefing and basic directions before you begin canyoning in Triglav National Park, Slovenia.
Part I of TNP canyoning
Then you will enter the first part of the canyon called Predelica and continue with techniques such as rappels, slides, walking, swimming, and jumping. You are ending 1st part of Triglav National Park canyoning when you get to the big abseil, around 30m. After that, you continue with a little bit of walking till you get to the first smaller rappel and entrance of 2nd part of the canyon.
Part II of TNP canyoning
Triglav National Park’s towering peaks and Predelnica’s cascading cascades will leave you in awe. We also take a break during the canyoning trip so that you can grab a bite to eat. ( we recommend taking some granola bars with you). We rarely bring water with us because the ravine is drinkable.
Finnish line
The second part of the canyon will be finished with a big rappel, where we have a little walk back to where our car is parked. During canyoning, guides will take a lot of pictures and videos, so make sure you will smile the whole time.
