Why is Soča river kayaking so special?
When you silently glide over the river with its magical scenery, you have the most beautiful views of surrounding green nature, white pebble beaches and views of the highest peaks of the Julian Alps, such as Mt. Triglav, Krn, and Kanin. In this land under the Triglav National Park, the river boasts its deep canyons, gorges, and waterfalls, making the whole river descent even more picturesque and attractive.
While paddling down the river, we will pass the location where they filmed the battle scenes featured in the movie Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. We will also come close to Slovenia’s highest and most powerful waterfall, the Boka waterfall. We will stop by the wonderful emerald river pools where you will be able to swim or jump into the water. Here, you might also see a famous marble trout.
Soča kayaking difficulty, duration and availability
According to the difficulty scale from one to six, the Soča river kayaking is between one and two, which means that it falls at an easy difficulty level. The calmer river section has no fast rapids, so you can learn the basics of this water sport while enjoying the wonderful nature.
The kayaking tour on the river takes about an hour and a half. During this time, we will make 5 to 10 kilometers. The length of the descent depends on your knowledge, experience, and wishes. We will finish the tour before the river section with fast rapids if you are a beginner. If you already have some experience, then we will extend the tour and we will also go down after higher rapids.
