What to expect?
First thing in the early morning, you will meet the guide either at your accommodation in Bled or at our office. Your guide will also be your driver to the starting point in Krma valley. You will drive through Triglav National Park, which will be a nice start to the day.
Starting the hike to the Kredarica hut
You will approach the Kredarica mountain through the lush forests of Krma valley. Soon after, you will start to hike uphill, passing the meadows of Vrtača. In the middle of our hike to Kredarica, we will pass a shepherd’s cottage called Prgarica where we will make a short break. Then we will continue hiking through a steep slope called Kalvarija before reaching the highest hut in the Julian alps, Triglavski dom na Kredarici.
Altogether, you will need around six hours of hiking to Kredarica hut (depending on weather conditions and the pace of the group). At the hut, our guide will help you with accommodation and preparation for the next day when you will climb to the top of Triglav mountain.
Following a short briefing, you will have free time to explore the nature around Kredarica hut. The surroundings of the hut offer amazing views of the peak of Triglav and the mountains in the area. You will be able to observe the sunset during dinner and then take a rest before the main climb.
Climbing to the top of Triglav mountain
The next morning you will be greeted by a majestic sunrise if the weather is favourable. In case of good weather conditions, you will start preparing around 6 am. You will climb the most demanding part of Via Ferrata before reaching Aljaž tower on the top of Triglav. The guide will give you all the details about climbing up and down a fixed rope route, he will also help you with gearing up your equipment. You can expect around 2 hours of Via Ferrata before you reach the peak.
After admiring the top of Slovenia, you will make a safe descent back to Kredarica hut for a traditional mountain breakfast. Finally, you will make around 5 hours of walking downhill back to the car parked in Krma valley. The guide will drive you back to Bled.
