When hiking the Slovenian Alps, you will most likely come across a Via Ferrata route at some point. Most importantly, the most visited ferrata in Slovenia is the one leading to the highest mountain, Triglav. Therefore, to conquer Triglav and many other Slovenian mountains, you must rent via ferrata set equipment to cross safely. At Altitude Activities, we know that packing all the important via ferrata gear is crucial for safety and comfort in the Alps, and that is why we offer you to rent via ferrata equipment.

– All the gear is certified, maintained properly, and fully compatible. Therefore, it ensures a hassle-free experience without any concerns.

– Look for frayed webbing, damaged stitching, or signs of excessive wear of a climbing harness.
– Test the buckles and the main belay loop of a climbing harness.

– Firstly, you put on a climbing harness; the belay loop should be facing forward.
– Step both legs through the leg loops, ensuring they are not twisted.
– Secondly, pull the waistbelt up to your waist, above your hips, and tighten the waistbelt buckle. You should not be able to pull the harness down.
– Tighten the leg loops so they are snug but comfortable.
– Next, tie in an attachment loop of the via ferrata lanyard to the belay loop.
– Clip the carabiners to the side loops of the climbing harness.
– Finally, put on a climbing helmet, and adjust the rear strap and the bottom strap so the helmet doesn’t move.

You can rent and return the equipment in our Altitude Activities office on Ljubljanska cesta 1, 4260 Bled. Please ensure that the gear is picked up and returned during the office hours that are currently in effect. (Every day from 8 am to 8 pm)
We understand that many hikers prefer to start their day early, so we offer the option to pick up your gear from our office one afternoon before your booking (after 6 p.m.) at no extra cost.
If you don’t manage to return it during office hours please let us know by phone or e-mail.
*Note that in the summer season, it is good to pre-book the via ferrata set since these are the months with the highest demand.
