What to expect?
First, we will drive to the starting point of the tour. Your guide will discuss the best options for snowshoeing with you, depending on the snow conditions.
At the starting point of the snowshoeing Slovenia tour, you will get snowshoes and hiking poles. Snowshoes are meant for walking on a thicker snow blanket since the larger bottom surface prevents sinking deep into the snow, and metal cogs on the sides prevent slipping on more icy terrain. Hiking poles will help you when walking uphill and downhill.
The guide will teach you some basic techniques for hiking in snowshoes. This will help you to learn how to climb and descend on different terrains properly, how to walk in an arch or circle, and how to cross a slope. The guide will also ensure your safety along the trails covered in snow.
This outdoor activity is a great winter workout that gives a strong heartbeat and intense body strengthening. Discover the charms of Alpine nature in winter and join us on an unforgettable adventure as you glide silently through the snow in the fresh mountain air.

Q & A
Where do we meet?
We will meet in front of the Altitude Activities office in Ljubljanska cesta 1, Bled 4260. Click HERE for navigation. If needed, we can pick you up at your accommodation. Choose this option in the online booking form.
Is snowshoeing suitable for the elderly and kids?
A guided winter hike with snowshoes is suitable for everyone, even the youngest and the elderly.
Is snowshoeing challenging to learn?
Don’t worry; everyone can do it, even kids. With a few technical instructions, you will soon conquer snowshoeing and move around confidently, enjoying the freedom.
Is snowshoeing demanding?
The choice is yours. We will adjust the activity to your physical fitness. Snowshoeing in Triglav National Park is also suitable for people in poor shape, as the climbs and descents are not tricky. We will adjust the hiking speed to your abilities, the complexity of the terrain and the snow.
Do I need a pair of winter pants?
Yes. Winter activities are most comfortable when wearing suitable water-resistant and warm pants like the ones for skiing.
Will I be wet?
We cannot guarantee you won’t get wet. Snow blankets can be only a few centimetres thick or up to half a meter or higher.
Will I be cold?
We will be walking at an altitude of more than 1.400 m. Therefore, you need to dress accordingly. If your equipment is not suitable, we will provide you with warm and waterproof clothes. If dressed appropriately, you won’t be cold.
Are trainers OK for snowshoeing?
No. It would be best if you had high hiking boots that support the ankle.
Can you lend me hiking boots of any size? Even for children?
Yes. Just call us one day before the trip, so that we can prepare the equipment.
Do I need to pack a lunch?
You don’t need to. If you have particular dietary demands like gluten-free, we advise you to pack your lunch since mountain cabins usually only have a few options.
How long is lunchtime?
We will stop for approximately 30 minutes.
Is snowshoeing available in the spring?
Snowshoeing Slovenia tour is available from December to April or when there is enough snow.
Is there a group discount?
Yes, we offer discounts for a group larger than five people. Contact us, and we will send you the offer.
