British Queen and the Pope have taken home their own bottle of wine from the oldest grape vine in the world, which is still growing in the northwest of Slovenia. Slovenia is known as a wine-growing country, where best Slovenian wines win prizes on all wine competitions around the world.

Slovenia has a rich wine-growing history and is increasingly successful in its wine production, so enologists and sommeliers compare Slovenian wine with wine-growing areas in Napa Valley in California and in French Bordeaux. In the wine growing regions of Slovenia we produce 48 varieties of vine. Slovenians are trying to revive some of the traditional varieties of grape vine, such as Rebula, Zelen, Pinela, Furmint (Šipon) and Radgonska Ranina. They also want to revive almost indigenous grape vine varieties, such as Maločrn, Lipna and Rumeni plavec.

There are many wine tasting locations available in Slovenia, where you can stop and taste the best Slovenian wines from the near vineyards and wine cellars. Some of the best wine tasting locations in Slovenia can be found in Ljubljana and in Bled.

Wine tasting in Bled offers quality wine with certified and controlled geographic origin, where you will have the chance to taste some of the best Slovenian wines. Wine tasting near Lake Bled will make this whole experience even more stunning.

The best thing ever. I took my old boss to experience Slovenia in one day. And boy I am happy I chose Altitude Activities to do so. Our tour guide Jerry was awesome, funny and you could just see he knows what he is doing. We went to the canyon of Jermanka and even though there is a drop almost 45m high we felt extremely safe. Overall highly suggest going canyoning with Altitude Activities
