Our Rafting Slovenia tours are pure adventure in a glorious nature of beatiful rivers.
During your holiday in Slovenia Rafting tours are a perfect team activity that you can share with your friends. You now have the chance to experience it on Europe’s most beautiful rivers like Soča and Sava and experience places like Bled, Bohinj and Bovec.
During rafting on Soča you will see, why it is referred as »The emerald river«, and experience different rafting difficulties. On the other hand, rafting on the river Sava offers a more relaxing option of rafting in Slovenia, which is also suitable for families with small children.
Rafting in Slovenia became a popular water sports activity in the mid-seventies of the 20th century. Since then, enthusiasts over adrenaline, unspoiled nature and clean waters, have found perfect locations for going down the river with a raft. Among them is a Savinja River in Logar Valley and Luče, and rivers like Drava, Mura, Krka and Kolpa River in the Dolenjska region.
Those who are looking for an unforgettable experience offered by white water rafting in Slovenia are thrilled about the emerald beauty of the Soča River, with its waters so crystal clear that a gravel river bed can be seen at all times. Sava Dolinka River and Sava Bohinjka River, two pristine alpine rivers, also offer a memorable experience on the rapids in the middle of unspoiled nature.
River sections are divided into different difficulty levels. In this, the calmer sections of the river with smaller rapids are more suitable for families with children and bigger groups who would like to observe the surrounding nature during the descent. The sections of the river with faster rapids, river streams, and rock obstacles are suitable for more experienced adrenaline enthusiasts.
Choosing the most suitable rafting tour on the Soča and Sava River depends mainly on the season, the weather and water levels. Going down on these two alpine rivers is more abundant with adrenaline in spring and autumn when rivers have higher water levels. Otherwise, this water sport does not require prior experiences, as professional and licensed guides are always present in the raft and therefore ensure a safe journey.
Exciting and adventurous river descents with rafts take place along the upper part of the Sava Bohinjka River, which flows from its springs at the Savica Waterfall near Lake Bohinj, passes through Bled and later connects as an important affluent to the mighty Sava River.
The wild and untamed river is a real challenge for rafters, especially at the river section with many gorges near Bohinjska Bela village. Branches of the river are constantly changing, so going down the river with a raft offers a lot of dynamic experiences during all seasons.
Sava Dolinka River offers an unforgettable journey on smaller rapids, passing canyons and gorges in a beautiful and pristine alpine nature. The waters here are somewhat calmer than on the Sava Bohinjka River. Also, Sava Dolinka rafting in Slovenia is a real eye-catcher, as the river changes its colors throughout the year. It invites rafters with its emerald green color in the summer months and turquoise blue color in colder months.
Going down the Sava Dolinka River begins in the upper Šobec wetlands, continues past the camp Šobec to the confluence of both affluents, where the journey ends at the famous Fux footbridge, which offers exciting jumps into the crystal-clear river.
The emerald Soča River, which winds through the stunning alpine valley, is famous for the most exciting descends with rafts and unforgettable water sports activities for those who want to experience the wild river with crystal clear water. Soča River is the queen of white water rafting in Slovenia also due to its unique natural charms with emerald green pools, white boulders, gorges and views of the mighty mountains, surrounding the Soča Valley from all sides.
The Soča River originates in the heart of the Julian Alps, from where it continues its journey through the Trenta Valley with narrow gorges and then spreads into a bigger river bed near Bovec. Thus, most starting points for going down the river begin few kilometers from Bovec and not far from the mighty Boka Waterfall.
From Boka Waterfall to the final destination, Trnovo ob Soči, there is the most beautiful and most attractive section of the river with its total length of 10 kilometers. Soča River rafting in Slovenia is also popular because in the upper part of the river the waters are calmer and therefore offer an ideal opportunity for enjoying unspoiled nature with its surroundings.
In the lower section of the river, the Soča River starts adding adrenaline with bigger rapids and boulders that are a treat for adrenaline enthusiasts. From Trnovo ob Soči the river begins to show its unrelenting and wild character, and from here on, the descent is only possible for experienced rafters.
The mini raft can carry only two people. In this, it differs from conventional and bigger rafts. The main feature of minirafting is that the pair in the raft is accompanied by a guide in the kayak that directs them from the beginning to the end of the journey.
This water activity represents one of the best rafting experiences in Slovenia, as rafters can use all their paddling skills. Since the raft is smaller and more agile, the pair can do faster maneuvers on rapids, between river boulders and narrow gorges.
