The tour will start from Bled or any other starting point if needed. Driving through amazing winter Alps surroundings will first lead us to BOHINJ LAKE. Does the beauty of Bled fascinate you? Well then you will be stunned when arriving at Bohinj, and the view of marvellous Lake opens to you. Comparing to Bled glamour, Bohinj offers a chance for pure, peaceful nature enjoyment. And that is what we will take advantage off. Taking a morning walk down the lake and breath in some fresh alpine air will be a nice start of our adventures day together.
Since Bohinj is still substantially not the well-discovered gem, we will take the time and do that together with visiting the surrounding villages and stop at the most amazing viewpoints which are only known by locals.
The winding road through the mystic forest in winter can be an incredible experience itself let alone the destination it leads us to. Welcome to POKLJUKA plateau-the highest in Slovenia and simultaneously the famous Biathlon centre.
Driving descent down from the 1400 m high plateau will next take us through the Radovna valley and straight to the winter fairytale surrounding of a frozen Peričnik Waterfall in Vrata valley.
All the way on the edge of Triglav national park on our adventure the road will pass Kranjska Gora, the most important Slovenian ski resort and home of the Vitranc Alpine ski world cup.
Not far away from the rural alpine city further in the forest, there is a place where river Sava Dolinka finds its way on the surface for the second time. Vividly emerald coloured springs ZELENCI were declared as a natural reserve to protect the unique animal and plant species. The springs are the reminder of a mighty lake that was supposedly here millions of years ago. Can you imagine that glory? You might when standing in the middle of the perfect wild garden in the woods.
Getting towards the end of our adventure before returning to Bled, how does a warm tea with stunning mountain view sounds? Last but not least and certainly a must on the winter list of places to see in this region- Planica. Ski Nordic centre, the valley of achievements, the cradle of ski flying are just a few of the names that Planica gained during its existence. The peak of the Nordic centre in March when Planica hosts the ski flying world cup which has sort off become the Slovenian national holiday.
