Starting the tour in Bled and entering the Triglav National Park
The meeting point is at or Bled office where you will get a bike and the equipment. The guide will lead you towards Lake Bled, where you will start cycling along the lakeshore. You will turn towards the villages of Spodnje and Zgornje Gorje below Bled Castle. Then you will ascend to Krnica village, from where the trail runs steeply downhill and over the Radovna River bridge. Here you will enter the Triglav National Park and start riding along the Radovna river-bed.
Cycling across the Radovna Valley with stops at cultural and natural sights
You will ride on an empty asphalt road across Radovna Valley, squeezed between the Pokljuka and Mežakla plateaus. You will be surrounded by idyllic meadows, mixed forests, and views of the Julian Alps. You will cycle past the Spodnja and Zgornja Radovna villages at the end of the valley, where Radovna Valley divides into three valleys (Krma, Kot, Vrata Valley) below Mt. Triglav. These valleys are starting points for hiking tours in the Julian Alps.
When you would like to visit the natural and cultural sights, you will turn off the trail. Along the way, you will stop at a monument with a unique story that will take you back to World War II and at aquamarine Lake Kreda, which is a bathing site in summer and a natural ice rink in winter. MTB trail from Martuljek Forest will lead you to the center of Kranjska Gora. The tourist town is a paradise for all sports enthusiasts, as in the summer, it is an excellent starting point for discovering natural sights and hiking tours. In winter, it transforms into a famous ski resort, hosting Vitranc and Zlata Lisica Ski Cup. From Kranjska Gora, you will cycle towards Lake Jasna, surrounded by the Julian Alps. At Lake Jasna, you will take a break and have some snacks.
A ride back to Bled past Jesenice, Slovenski Javornik and Kočna
After a break, you will continue the second part of the biking trip from Bled to Kranjska Gora on a gently sloping bicycle lane right by the road to Jesenice, the Slovenian iron town. Here you will turn towards the village of Slovenski Javornik and ascend to Kočna. You will cycle uphill from Jesenice to Kočna, where you will descend to Spodnje Gorje village and cycle back to Bled.
