Zasavska Sveta gora or the Zasavje Holy mountain, together with Church of Mary’s Birth, is one of the most visited viewing points in central Slovenia. It lies on a ridge that slopes downwards to the Sava River valley and into the narrow Kandršica valley. Due to the diverse terrain with many sights of cultural heritage, this is one of the most impressive mountain bike trails in Slovenia.
MTB routes will lead you on the macadam, asphalt and forest tracks. The biking tour lasts 1.5 hours when you will make 17 kilometers. The trip is suitable for cyclists in their best fitness, as there are plentiful steep ascents. Start your journey in the town of Litija and continue across the Sava River to the Panovič Castle. Then cycle across the valley of the brook Vidrnica, from where the path starts to rise steeply to the Castle Ljubek. At Vače, turn for Klenik onto a cart track that slopes to the top of Zasavska Gora.

The trip starts at Lake Podpeč, from where you cycle towards the vast forest on the south side of the hill.
When the road at the end widens, continue cycling on the left side to the sign for Tomišelj, where you turn right. From here follow a moderately long mountain bike trail with alternating ascends and descends along the eastern side of Krim.
Then cycle on a wider macadam path towards Iška vas and Rakitna. After a few kilometers turn right at a Krim sign. The gently sloping path will lead you below the summit with a short but steep slope. At the top of the Krim, you can make a stop in a cottage that offers food and drinks.
